Fantasy Unicorn Posable Plush by SabrePanther Fantasy Unicorn Posable Plush by SabrePanther
This is a unicorn posable plush doll that stands at 10 inches at the top of the head. As shown in the picture above, the legs, neck, and tail are posable. The legs and head are made from clay with a wire armature running through them. And the clay "bones" enable realistic movement and posture. The rest of the body is filled with polyester stuffing and covered in imitation stretch velvet and faux fur.

Any helpful critiques would be appreciated :) I underestimated the stretchiness of the fabric so the body length is a bit short. But hey, since it's a fantasy creature, it's anatomy should be a little different from a horse's.

This is lovely! As the person above me has said, your anatomy is really quite fantastic! How do you sculpt it so well? Is it all down to clever patterns, or do you use forms? Its very impressive, whatever it is! :iconnoodleslovesitplz:

I use a pattern that I make up myself. I actually use a picture of a horse as a reference, and if I'm looking for breed-specific proportions, I trace the outline of the body, legs, and neck for a basis for my pattern, and then make a few tweaks here and there to shape it into the correct form.
I use wire and clay for the legs, using stuffing to fill in the gaps, making sure that they are still quite bendable but is still able to hold the animal upright.
The head is made of sculpted clay attached to a bendable wire in the neck, and the head was covered in the same fabric used on the body.
